MELISSA ARMSTRONG COACHING
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
I was born under a full moon, and My Sharona was the #1 song on the radio. I am most passionate about social justice and human rights, healing, recovery from and destigmatization of addictions, the exploration of human consciousness, theories of change, lifelong learning, and helping people to know themselves deeply. My gifts are leadership, facilitation, empathy, humour and facing my fears. I have worked for several years on my own recovery from addiction, depression and anxiety - which requires ongoing practice, tenderness, resilience and connection with other human beings on the path. I have a young son, and we’re growing up together.
I love to help people uncover more freedom and meaning in their lives. I am interested in how our growth and development helps us to be of service in the world.
I coach in a large tech company, and run my private coaching and facilitation practice. I worked in leadership and executive positions in the public sector for fifteen years, as a leader in social policy, change management and organizational development, and business transformation. I graduated from Carleton University in 2003 with a BA in Sociology and Women's Studies.
I am extremely grateful for my teachers at Integral Coaching Canada: Laura Divine, Joanne Hunt, Chela Davison and Kevin Snorf, and my mindfulness teachers Shinzen Young, Jeff Warren, and Julianna Raye. It has been an honour to learn from these incredible, brilliant warriors, and I recognize the privilege I have had in being able to study with them. I also acknowledge and honour my comrades in addiction recovery: I would not be here without you.
I coach one on one clients, facilitate groups, and teach mindfulness. If you'd like to work together, I am available for coaching and facilitation in person in Toronto, or via online videoconferencing.
